The Kid becomes part of a group of six Pony Express riders in the Old West based at the Sweetwater Station in the Nebraska territory. He meets station master, Teaspoon Hunter, and fellow riders, Buck, Jimmy, Ike, Cody and Lou.

The Kid

Childhood memories are torturing Jimmy. When he accidentally spooks a horse, the man riding it is insulted. The man, Longley, is a hired gun and demands an apology. Teaspoon tries to help Jimmy with his issues, but he decides to fight the man.

Gunfighter

After an Indian attack on settlers, Buck finds himself in the middle, torn between his loyalty to his Kiowa brother and his bond with Pony Express members. After the tribe captures Ike, Buck must prove that he is a real Indian at heart.

Home of the Brave

Ike witnesses a stagecoach massacre and turns the killer's leader over to the marshal. However, the gang kidnaps and threatens to kill one of the riders if Ike testifies. It is a race against time to serve justice and keep one of their own alive.

Speak No Evil

Lou returns to her childhood orphanage to get her younger brother and sister. However, her gunrunning father gets to them first and hides them in his compound. When Lou confronts him, the other riders discover that Lou is actually a girl.

Bad Blood

A dime novelist takes revenge on Jimmy by creating a story in his latest novel, penning him as Wild Bill Hickok, "the fastest gun in the West." Soon afterward, a hired gunman arrives in Sweetwater to take him down in a gunfight.

Ten-Cent Hero

The Kid finds a young Indian warrior at the scene of a massacre and takes him into custody to face justice in Sweetwater. The warrior, named Curly, denies any wrongdoing. The Kid and the riders try to determine if he is responsible for the crime.

A Good Day to Die

Jimmy accompanies Emma to Fort Reunion to help a friend give birth. While there, they encounter the wicked commanding officer responsible for an Indian massacre at a peaceful village. Jimmy tries to find out the truth of what really happened.

End of Innocence

The Kid enjoys a reunion with his long-lost brother, Jed. It seems as though Jed has found his place in the Army. However, he is actually posing as a cavalry member and is leading a gang to steal a gold shipment for the Confederacy.

False Colors

Jimmy falls in love with a young woman, not realizing that she is married. He finds himself framed for a murder by the woman. The Kid and Lou come to Jimmy's aid, proving that he is innocent of the crime.

A young woman named Amanda comes to Sweetwater, claiming to be Teaspoon's daughter. But she and her companion's true intentions are to steal a keepsake worth a small fortune that once belonged to Teaspoon's dead daughter.

After surviving a brutal massacre of wealthy settlers, Evan, Emma's estranged husband, comes to Sweetwater looking for shelter. When Evan wants to reconcile their relationship, Sam and the riders are suspicious of his intentions.

Van Dorn, a corrupt businessman and the man responsible for the murder of Marshal Sam Cain's wife, comes to Sweetwater. First, he ousts Cain and takes over the town, and then he appoints his gang to be the law enforcement for the town.

Man Behind the Badge

Teaspoon travels to Texas with an old comrade to warn three aging veterans that someone has been murdering the last men who genuinely remember the Alamo. Jimmy and Buck follow from behind as Teaspoon tracks down the killer.

A gunman impersonating Jimmy as Wild Bill Hickok, robs banks in the territory. Jimmy goes undercover to find out who is framing him. To catch the gunman in the act, the riders position themselves at the next bank that he plans to rob.

A cholera outbreak spreads fear among the townspeople of Sweetwater. They blame a defenseless, mentally disabled boy named Danny, who traveled to town with a medicine show. Now, the riders must protect him from an angry mob of citizens.

Buck guides the cavalry to a Sioux camp to release hostages. They find the Sweetwater store owner's wife, Sally, and daughter, Jennifer, who the Sioux kidnapped years earlier. However, their reunion is not a happy one as complications arise.

Teaspoon's old friend, war hero Colonel Matthew Curtis, orders an attack on the Sioux delegation after they ambush his men. The townspeople are in danger when the Sioux threatens to retaliate. It turns out that another tribe is responsible.

Ike meets and falls in love with Emily Metcalfe. When a card shark named Neville murders her gambler father, Emily seeks revenge. Ike intervenes in her plans to try to protect her, but suffers from a gunshot in the process.

Buck continues to grieve over Ike's untimely death. Meanwhile, Cody falls for Julia, the widow of a gunrunner who has a young son named Danny. Cody helps them both adjust to life on their own.

Jimmy captures Jesse's brother Frank James after a bank robbery. Jesse feels that he needs to be loyal to his brother and breaks him out of jail. This forces Teaspoon and Jimmy to go out on the hunt to bring him back in for justice.

Rachel falls for a military division agent who has a drinking problem. When his issues start affecting her, Rachel reveals that she's had a problem with alcohol in the past. Meanwhile, with Teaspoon and other riders away, Noah heads a slim crew.

Cody and Noah have the huge task of delivering a tiger to St. Joseph, Missouri, while protecting two nuns and a young lady named Elizabeth. Cody soon falls for Elizabeth. Soon trouble arises when they must fight off hunters wanting the tiger's hide.

A Tiger's Tale

Charlotte, an old friend of Lou's, comes to Rock Creek and stirs up bad memories of a man who had hurt them both. Lou distances herself from Kid, but when Charlotte turns up dead, Lou confronts her past. Meanwhile, Jimmy befriends a Lakota Indian.

Isiah Burke and his wife Rosemary are abolitionists who are trying to lead a group to freedom. Jimmy, who is visiting his sister, becomes involved with them but soon finds out that their tactics are too violent.

The Kid befriends a young woman named Margaret, who unbeknownst to him, is a charming spy. His kindness toward her results in him and the other riders becoming involved in an elaborate scheme to steal a gold shipment.

A Pinkerton agent comes to Rock Creek in search of a bank robber. Meanwhile, Teaspoon befriends Marie, who claims to be destitute, but Bill and Jesse discover that she is part of an outlaw gang.

Shadowmen

After serving his time in prison, a murderer returns to Rock Creek. Meanwhile, Jesse has a new boss in Fury, who he looks up to as a father figure. But, the murder of his boss leads Jesse and the townspeople quick to blame the town's new arrival.

Mask of Fear

Jimmy is hot on the trail of a killer that he has personal reasons for taking down. Jesse decides to tag along. Meanwhile, back at the station, the other riders are upset with Cody about a published story he wrote about them.

The Road Not Taken

Teaspoon and Jimmy travel to help restore order in a lawless town that The Kid and Lou happen to be visiting. Along their way, they encounter a runaway slave. Meanwhile, a robbery occurs in the town, and The Kid takes over for the sheriff.

The Sacrifice

After his overturned conviction, a gunslinger named Randle seeks the men who testified against him and put him in jail. Meanwhile, Teaspoon's ex-wife, Polly, comes to Rock Creek to buy a saloon, but unfortunately becomes Randle's focus.

Lessons Learned

A new rider named Matt trains to replace Lou when she gets married. However, when the new rider disappears on his first ride, Jimmy and Lou go after him. Jimmy soon discovers that the Garrett brothers are responsible for Matt's demise.

The Debt

The Kid and Lou's special day is approaching, and the riders prepare for the couple's upcoming wedding. Teaspoon is upset over when the Army arrives in Rock Creek to recruit young men as scouts. Meanwhile, the townspeople brace for the Civil War.

The Kid and Lou's wedding day arrives. The advancement of the Civil War forces the riders to take sides. Jesse must choose between his brother Frank or his friends in the Pony Express. An encounter with renegade rebels ends in tragedy.
