Outlaw Sam Morley, an old friend, comes to the McCain Ranch. He asks Lucas to turn in him for the $500 reward and use the money to pay for his girlfriend's medical care. However, a bounty hunter has other ideas.

The North Fork Saloon is ransacked by the Malakie brothers, who are three rough mountain men. A fight breaks out and one brother is killed. Lucas is blamed and when their father arrives, he vows vengeance.

Bloodlines

A mail-order husband arrives in North Fork, and finds not only a bride, but also harassment from two local troublemakers.

Mail Order Groom

Al Walker, a sick gunslinger, comes to North Fork hoping to die in peace. Knowing that his presence will attract outlaws, Micah and Lucas put him in protective custody. When outlaws set fire to the town, Walker dies a hero by standing up to them.

The Blowout

Newspaperman Byron Claremont writes an article about old gunslinger, Ben Russell, who settled down years ago. The article brings in a young gun, who murders Russell. Next, Claremont writes about Lucas McCain and his rifle, which brings more tragedy.

Obituary

Lucas and Mark help Sid Halpern with his cattle drive. When bounty hunter Clemmie Martin confronts Halpern and gunfire erupts, Halpern and Martin both perish. Lucas tries to hide Halpern's criminal past from his widow and son.

Tension

Eddie Halstead is a hotel clerk in North Fork. His daughter, Lillian, who he hasn't seen since childhood, arrives in town. She is now a dance hall girl and Lucas discovers criminals are following her, focused on the stolen money in her possession.

Lucas and Mark find a young couple in a wagon who are suffering from a fever. Lucas takes them to his ranch where a doctor confirms it to be yellow fever. No-good Brett Conway spreads the word in North Fork and panic sets in.

Panic

Lucas and Mark travel through the desert to get a supply of salt when a rattlesnake spooks their horses, causing the wagon to overturn. A horse must be put down due to injury and Lucas is also badly hurt. Mark has no choice but to go for help alone.

Ordeal

Lucas agrees to ride shotgun on a stagecoach carrying $20,000 in gold for North Fork banker John Hamilton after a man fails to show up. When three men rob the stage and take Mark hostage, Lucas must get both the gold and Mark back safely.

The Spiked Rifle

Marshal Micah Torrance arrests infamous outlaw Brett Stocker and deputizes Lucas McCain into duty so he can transport the outlaw to another town. When Stocker's gang ambush Torrance and send a letter to Lucas with demands, Lucas must act quickly.

Lucas agrees to do a good deed for Pop, the town drunk who is dying, by going along with a story that his ranch is owned by Pop. When Pop's son, Philip, arrives from back east the story backfires and now his son wants restitution.

While hunting, Colly Vane encounters a dangerous outlaw, The Domino Kid, who forces Vane to shoot him. When he brings the body back to town, it's discovered he was shot in the back. Instead of being a hero, Vane faces danger.

Kansas Sawyer is Lucas' friend who was cheated in a horse-trading deal. Lucas investigates Colonel Bourbon's operation and discovers his illegal process. He also learns that the horse Sawyer bought was stolen and is being sought after by outlaws.

The Horse Traders

An elderly couple move to North Fork and settle down under a false name to keep the town from knowing they are parents of a vicious killer on the loose. However, their plan fails when their son shows up and causes chaos.

When Lucas and Mark go on a train trip, clouds of swarming grasshoppers force the train to stop. A prisoner takes advantage of the emergency and breaks free, then kills Marshal Dixon. Lucas, with the help of a buffalo hunter, outwits the outlaw.

Outlaws kill a preacher and his wife. Two members of the group assume their identity and come to North Fork to rob the bank. However, when Mark finds out who they really are, he is kidnapped and kept quiet. Lucas and Micah set out to stop the gang.

A Time for Singing

A wounded Army deserter shows up at the McCain Ranch desperate for a horse. Lucas takes him in just as the Army Cavalry unit appears to take the deserter into custody. In town, the harsh commanding officer demands he be executed for desertion.

Mark drinks some tainted water from a barrel and contracts typhoid fever. Lucas is forced to use an eccentric old doctor. During bouts of a continuous intense fever, Mark becomes delirious and has a vision of his deceased mother, who he never knew.

Lariat Jones, an old friend of Lucas', comes to North Fork to open up a new gambling casino. Jones has an excellent reputation as an honest gambler. But when two strangers become his partners, accusations of cheating become deadly for Jones.

A beautiful headstrong young woman named Marge Crandell doesn't like to be told what to do by anyone. Several men vie for her attention and when Lucas finds her dead, one of the men becomes a prime suspect due to a simple clue, a half-smoked cigar.

Sharecropper Gabe Fenway enters his horse, Sapphire, in a race. His landlord, Jake Preston, bets Fenway that Mark's horse, Blueboy, will win. Preston wants Fenway's farm and bets $1000 against his whole year of crops. He will stop at nothing to win.

Bessie Steel Weaver welcomes her husband, Farley, home after his release from prison. Lucas hires him as a hand believing he has changed his ways. However, when a murder occurs during a local robbery, suspicions are aroused.

The Jailbird

Lucas' old Army buddy, Tom Benton, comes to North Fork raising a ruckus. Micah arrests him and Lucas bails him out. Benton, an undercover federal agent, wants to stay in jail to hopefully infiltrate a gang of bank robbers.

Meeting at Midnight

An old flame of Lucas' comes to North Fork. After Lucas learns she is sick and her deceased husband spent all her money, he goes to help. However, all is not as it seems as she didn't come alone, and Lucas' good deed involves him in a murder.

Nora

Lucas arrives at Eban Muchen's ranch to deliver supplies. He finds Muchen's body and hired hand, Voleny Adams, right next to him. Adams denies he killed Muchen, but no one in town believes the ex-convict and want him to hang.

The Hangman

Three bank robbers come to the McCain Ranch and force Lucas into helping them rob the North Fork Bank. One robber stays behind to guard Mark while the other two take Lucas to town. They threaten to kill Mark, unless Lucas cooperates with the gunmen.

Trail of Hate

When Lucas and Mark catch two young men stealing a horse, Lucas is forced into a shootout. He captures one of the men, but Ma Boyle's son is killed in the gunfight. Soon after the killing, the Boyle clan comes to hang the person responsible.

A prison wagon carrying seven criminals stops in North Fork for supplies. The men escape, barricade themselves in the North Fork Saloon, and take saloon owner, Frank Sweeney, hostage. Lucas must act quickly to save Sweeney and the town from harm.

A fast-talking con man and his teenage son stop at Lucas McCain's Ranch and try to talk their way into securing the mineral rights. However, the plan backfires when they discover the gold they thought was on the property is actually fool's gold.

The Pitchman

Prisoner Bletch Droshek escapes from Marshal Micah Torrance, and leaves him beaten on a barbed-wire fence. Torrance stumbles to the McCain Ranch and deputizes Lucas to apprehend Droshek at a mining camp run by his brother.

A Mexican bandit named Baranca and his gang ride into North Fork looking for Bro Hadley, who murdered a Mexican farmer and burned down his home. Baranca finds Hadley and intends to get justice by executing him. However, Lucas intervenes just in time.

Cavalry Captain Josiah Perry, a disciplined military man, learns his son, Lon, died in a North Fork gunfight with Lucas. Perry is bent on making Lucas pay for Lon's death. Perry's other son, Ben, tries to keep his dad from facing the same fate.

A young, naive woman who doesn't have any business experience comes to North Fork and purchases the general store from Hattie Denton. A newcomer and his partner con her by posing as collection agents, putting the town's citizens in danger.

Sara Caruthers, the deceased widow of a bandit Lucas shot when he was a deputy marshal, has an unusal will to get revenge against McCain. It stipulates that $100,000 be divided among North Fork residents if Lucas dies within seven days of her death.
